Important Things to Know for 2012-2013

• NEW National Benefit Services will be the new Section 125 Third Party Administrator (TPA) for Ralls Independent School District. Tax Sheltered flexible spending accounts allow and individual to set aside dollars to pay for future health care and dependent care expenses. Eligible expenses must be incurred with the plan year (9/1/12 to 8/31/13) and contributions are use or lose it. Two new NBS Flex Cards will be issued to those employees who participate in the Flex Card option. Direct deposit is available. The medical reimbursement annual maximum is $2,500 / plan year. The dependent care reimbursement annual maximum is $5,000 / plan year, if married, filing jointly and $2,500 / plan year if filing single. Please remember to keep your receipts! As a result of the“Health Care Reform Act”, the maximum annual contribution for your Medical Reimbursement will be $2,500 starting September 1, 2012.
  
  
• If you currently participate in the medical or dependent care reimbursement flexible spending accounts, you MUST log in and elect this benefit every year. If you do not re-enroll annually, your participation will automatically be waived.
  
  
• 5 Star will remain the Voluntary Term Life / AD&D carrier for the Ralls Independent School District. Guarantee Issue is only available for new employees of the District, as long as coverage is elected within the 31 day new hire enrollment period.
  
  
• Benefits and rates will remain the same for the following coverage types: Guardian Dental, Block Vision, Unum Educator Disability, American Public Life Cancer, American Public Life Accident, 5 Star Group Term Life / AD&D and 5 Star Individual Life.
